Google has announced that it is ending production of the Chromecast after 11 years. The devices will be sold while supplies last.

All Chromecast technology will be integrated into the Google TV Streamer, which will go on sale on September 24 for $99. It has a processor 22% faster than the last Chromecast, released in 2022. Google TV Streamer also supports the Thread and Matter smart home protocols.

Chromecast was originally released as a device whose body quickly streamed content from a smartphone to a TV. Under the law, Chromecast was turned into a Google TV set-top box, but it abandoned Apple TV in terms of capabilities.
