$39,900 Price Tag: Musk initially promised the base model of the Cybertruck would cost $39,900, but the cheapest version currently costs almost $100,000 and Tesla has been slowly raising prices.
500-mile range: The top-of-the-line Cybertruck will offer a range of 500 miles (about 800 km), making it one of the longest-range electric vehicles. Instead, the current top-of-the-line model only offers about 320 miles (about 500 km).
Cyberquad: Musk promised a full-size model in 2019, introducing the Cyberquad ATV alongside the Cybertruck. Tesla only released a kids version; the full-size Cyberquad has yet to be revealed.
Cybertruck as a boat: Musk claimed the car could float and operate like a boat, but that feature never materialized. Although the Cybertruck has a “mode” for shallow waters, it’s still far from being a boat.
Crab Walk: The Cybertruck was supposed to be equipped with a feature that would allow it to move diagonally. Tesla scrapped the idea, citing the feature’s “awkwardness and impracticality.”
