PJSC Megafon has signed a contract with FKU Nalog-Service of the Federal Tax Service of Russia to send SMS alerts to self-employed workers. The company is expected to send almost 35 million SMS-information messages to users of the My Tax mobile application within a year.

The cost of each message is 4.24 rubles, and the authorities will pay 147 million rubles for the total volume. The total cost of the contract is estimated at 153.9 million rubles and also includes international roaming service for 256 employees of the Tax Service.

Megafon was the only bidder, according to data from the public procurement website. The mobile operator will send the notice until August 31, 2025.

Megafon had already received a contract to send SMS messages in 2023, then it intended to send about 29 million SMS for 3.96 rubles. In 2022, the contract went to ISTelecom, which was to send messages for 1.84 rubles, but by agreement of the parties, the contract was terminated a month later.

According to the Federal Tax Service, the number of self-employed workers in Russia has exceeded 10 million people.
