Movistar doesn’t work: what happens to your mobile network, internet and data?

Movistarone of the main operators in Spain, is experiencing a decline that affects a large portion of users throughout the territory, including cities such as Madrid and Barcelona. On the above-mentioned portal, the majority of users – 69% – report that they have problems with mobile internet connection. That is, mobile data transfer does not work. 25% claim that they have problems with landline Internet, and 6% – with mobile phones.

Movistar has not commented on the matter.It is also unclear whether the fall will affect Telefónica’s other general coverage services, such as O2. In any case, although they are quite rare, this type of fall is usually common and usually does not take long to resolve.

Dozens of Movistar customers have shared their complaints about the decline in service quality. They claim that they have been without mobile data for several hours and that nothing is helping to restore the connection. “I had problems with mobile data for some time. I rebooted the phone, turned it off, took out the SIM card. I can call, but the data comes and goes…,” says one of the victims.

Movistar restores service again

Telefonica confirmed that the fall Movistar has already been decidedand that the service returns to normal operation. It also emphasizes that the fall did not affect all of Spain, but only part of the region. In particular, the failure occurred when using voice and mobile data in Galicia, as well as calls to Galicia from other autonomous communities.
