South Korean artificial intelligence chipmakers Rebellions and Sapeon Korea have signed a definitive merger agreement.

The companies announced merger talks in June but the talks have now entered the final stages, company sources told Reuters. Sapeon’s shareholders are a division of South Korea’s largest telecoms company SK Telecom and the world’s second-largest memory chipmaker SK Hynix.

Rebellions recently received a $15 million investment from Wa’ed Ventures, the venture capital arm of Saudi Aramco. In total, the company received more than $225 million from the corporation.
