According to experts, drinking tea with a temperature above 60 degrees increases the likelihood of developing esophageal cancer. This is stated in a report published in the International Journal of Cancer. During this study, experts examined data from more than 500 thousand people.
The study results showed that those who drank less than 700 ml of hot tea (temperature above 60 degrees Celsius) each day were almost twice as likely to develop esophageal cancer. Specifically, this risk increased by 90% compared to those who drank 700 ml or more of tea with a temperature below 60 degrees Celsius.
