A lossless format with high sound quality has appeared on Yandex Music. The new option is available for free to Yandex Plus subscribers. Among Russian streaming services, tracks in lossless format can only be heard in “Sound”.

The Yandex Music streaming service has added the option to listen to tracks in lossless format, according to the press service of the service.
Audio decoding in flac format preserves the quality of the original studio recording, so lossless is superior in sound quality to traditional mp3. At the moment, about 25 million tracks in lossless format are available on Yandex Music.
Now, users of the service have three options for adjusting the sound quality: excellent, optimal and economy. The service recommends listening to music in excellent quality for those with unlimited Internet. Economy quality means lower Internet traffic consumption.
Among Russian services, only Sound offers a similar option. On foreign services, music with uncompressed sound is available on Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer and others.
