This will be the first time that high-speed mobile networks will be built into the suits, allowing data transmission over distances of several kilometers on the lunar surface, including HD video, telemetry and voice communications.

This will allow astronauts to send real-time video from the Moon to Earth and stay in touch with mission control.

Nokia plans to establish the first mobile network on the Moon as part of the Intuitive Machines IM-2 mission, which is set to launch in 2024. The technology, developed at Bell Labs, will also be adapted for use in new AxEMU spacesuits built by Axiom Space.
