Such a network allows users from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus to access content from the nearest node with caching servers, regardless of location. Loading speed, on average, increases by 20-30%.

All of this is all the more relevant due to the growth in the number of users, authors and traffic of VK Video. In addition, in Russia recently there have been problems with access to YouTube and many have automatically switched to using other platforms. As for VK, since the beginning of the year the total video traffic has increased by 30%. Some categories showed multiple growth. Children’s content has increased 4.5 times, sports videos have increased 5 times, and views of entertainment programs in high definition have also increased.

“The capacity of connections with telecom operators has doubled compared to 2023. And the throughput of the VK network is up to 40 Tbps. This will be enough even if the daily audience of VK services doubles immediately,” said Elena Yakupova, Deputy Vice President for Infrastructure and Application Services at VK.

He also noted that technical improvements will help users to enjoy VK services more regardless of their location. They can now watch high-resolution videos, listen to music and complete other tasks without delay.

Earlier, RB.RU noted that VK WorkSpace has extensively updated its messenger for businesses and even earlier launched a beta version of the free VK Board service. It makes it easier to view information and share work progress.
