Autopilot.ru writes that the name of the model in the country was chosen by voting on social networks, in which about 200 thousand users participated. Note that from Sanskrit Kylaq means “crystal”.
The Skoda Kylaq is the most compact crossover in the Volkswagen Group model line-up, measuring just 4 metres long, while the Kushaq SUV is already 4225 mm long and the Fabia hatchback is 4108 mm long.
The new car is built on a simplified MQB-A0-IN platform, which is used by the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun crossovers and the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus sedans.
The Skoda Kylaq will most likely be equipped with a 115 hp engine, which will be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Earlier, Avito Auto experts named the most popular car with automatic transmission in Russia in 2024. The fight for leadership in this segment was won by the mid-size crossover from the Chinese manufacturer Geely Monjaro;
