The problem is repeated in the latest version of iOS 17, as well as in iOS 18 and 18.1. On iOS 17, entering the characters “”: one after another followed by any will cause the desktop to crash and the smartphone to restart; on iOS 18 and 18.1, Spotlight freezes and desktop errors are observed.
It is not yet clear why this issue occurs and there has been no comment from Apple, but insiders hope that the vendor will still pay attention to this “glitch” and release a fix with the next updates.
