Moscow-based venture fund and business angel Sergey Belykh has invested 26 million rubles in the Picvario multimedia content management system, a representative of the fund told RB.RU about this.

Picvario will use the money to implement artificial intelligence into its system. This is expected to expand functionality for its customers.

Picvario users will have access to generative networks and automatic text translation. They will be able to analyze image, video and audio files, perform automatic transcriptions and translations, as well as recognize text from handwritten and scanned documents.

About the company

Picvario is a national platform for working with multimedia content. It belongs to the class of DAM (Digital Asset Management System) systems, which are used to store, search and manage photos, videos, audio content, presentations and other files in large digital assets.

With Picvario, you can perform the following tasks: quickly find the desired file in a multi-million archive, optimize workflows for creating, distributing and storing data. The system can be integrated into various elements of the IT infrastructure.

The Moscow Venture Fund clarified that the system was created in 2020, while the legal entity of the project, Picvario LLC, was established in late 2018. The company is included in the unified register of Russian software and databases.

According to the Kontur.Focus system, Picvario’s revenue in 2023 amounted to 67.4 million rubles, compared to 26.1 million in 2022. Last year, the company also made a net profit of 29 million rubles for the first time.

The Moscow Venture Fund provided Picvario with a loan of 8 million rubles in 2022. The company reportedly repaid it early. In the current transaction, the fund’s investments amounted to 15 million rubles.

Data on the company’s owners as of December 21, 2023 (latest available on Kontur.Focus): 47.22% – Sergei Fomin, 18.58% – Nikolay Belykh, 11.61 – Sergei Agayev, 11.11% – Sergei Belykh, 7.4% – Andrey Leshonok, 4.07% – Digital Technologies LLC.
