The photo hosting service Pinterest has been fined 7 million rubles for violating the law on self-regulation, the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction reported.

“Pinterest Europe Limited (“Pinterest Europe Limited”) was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 3 of Art. 13.50 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation,” the message said.
Roskomnadzor previously said that following the results of the first half of the year, the owners of foreign social networks TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitch and Telegram were fined 7.7 million rubles for failing to monitor the distribution of prohibited content. Then, YouTube received the most severe punishment – 4 million rubles, while Pinterest and Twitch imposed a fine of 1 million rubles each.
Also at the end of 2023, Pinterest and the company that owns Snapchat were fined for refusing to localize the data of Russians. They were found guilty of a crime under Part 9 of Art. 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation. Pinterest was fined 12 million rubles, Snap Inc – 9 million rubles.
