She filed the claim after Durov stopped paying her €150,000 in child support. This all happened in the spring of 2023. Initially, the Geneva court did not consider it, as the documents were filed more than three months after the last incident of physical violence reported by Bolgar, Forbes claims. But an appeal was filed in May, and in October the court allowed the case to continue.
According to Bolgar Durov, between 2021 and 2022 she used violence five times against her youngest son, born in 2017, and was injured. As evidence, she cited transcripts of messages allegedly exchanged between Bolgar and Durov in November 2021 in Paris, and also provided a certificate dated April 2023, confirming that the child suffers from anxiety and sleep disorders. The woman says that Durov stopped paying her child support in the fall of 2022 and she was forced to raise her children on his salary of almost $10,000.
Bulgaria also previously appealed to the Geneva court demanding that it be granted sole custody of the children, but the court ruled in its favor. The woman’s lawyer says she and her three children are involved in a civil lawsuit, but he declined to comment on the criminal case.
The intelligence services of France and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) hacked the phone of businessman and founder of the Telegram messenger Pavel Durov in 2017.
