We are talking about a video hosting site called videobel.by. This is the first OTT platform in Belarus, which will host shows and various sections. Pertsov also drew attention to the unpredictable situation that has arisen with YouTube.

“It’s a rather weak analogy, but it’s the first step towards creating a Belarusian YouTube,” Belta explains.

Pertsov says that the Belarusian site will broadcast TV channels in real time and will host off-air activities of video content creators. On the home page of the video hosting site, users will see news from the Belta news agency.

Russian Internet users’ interest in foreign analogues of YouTube has increased significantly after the slowdown in its operation. The number of search queries, for example, for the services Vimeo and Bilibil has increased exponentially. Russian YouTube substitutes Rutube and VK Video are also gaining popularity.
