It is known that the nomination of his candidacy, proposed by the Ministry of Finance and supported by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was agreed upon by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and the decision will be formalized by order of the Russian government.
Since the 1990s, Alexey Mozhin has been Russia’s representative at the IMF. In 2014, he became the dean of the executive board, being the oldest active member of the foundation. He was empowered to make announcements on behalf of the board regarding the selection and appointment of the managing director of the IMF. In the spring of 2022, the IMF Board of Directors decided to temporarily freeze the position of dean of the board due to the events in Ukraine.
Yudaeva worked at the Bank of Russia since September 2013, initially she was responsible for monetary policy and then began working on issues of strategy, forecasting and financial stability. She left the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in August 2023, but retained the position of advisor to the head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina. In this position, she assumed responsibility for interaction with the scientific and expert community.
