ChatGPT reaches twice as many users, reaching 200 million per week

Launched in 2022, ChatGPT is the most well-known chatbot and has the biggest success story to date. Recently, developer OpenAI shared data showing that the tool doubled its active user count to 200 million weekly users in a year.

In November 2023, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that ChatGPT had around 100 million active users per week. Figures confirmed by the company’s spokesperson Taya Christianson point to over 200 million weekly users.

This number represents a doubling of users in less than a year, highlighting the technology’s success. The AI-specialist company also reveals that 92% of Fortune 500 companies are using ChatGPT in some way, demonstrating how well the tool is already being deployed across local and enterprise audiences.

Since the launch of ChatGPT, hundreds of companies have realized that AI is now in vogue. Tech giants like Meta, Google, and Microsoft are investing heavily in this type of technology and have already launched their own versions, such as Gemini and Copilot.

It is worth noting that companies such as Apple and Nvidia are negotiating to invest in OpenAI’s capital and accelerate the race for more AI in their initiatives. Therefore, the expectation is that the company will reach a market value of around 100 billion US dollars (approximately R$ 560 billion in direct conversion).
