French prosecutors have not confirmed reports that Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who was previously released on bail, will be allowed to leave the country in six months, RIA Novosti reported.

This question arose after a post in the Paris Match publication about the existence of such an opportunity. The supervisory agency said that the judicial control over Durov has no time limits and therefore it is premature to talk about when he will be able to leave France. At the same time, he has the right to request, if he so wishes, a relaxation of the conditions of judicial control.
On August 24, Durov was arrested at Paris airport. French security forces suspect him of ten felonies and misdemeanors, including complicity in the administration of an online platform for illegal transactions by an organized group. He could face up to 10 years in prison. On the evening of August 28, the businessman was released on bail of 5 million euros, which he must pay in the near future. He is now not allowed to leave French territory and must “report” to the police twice a week.
On September 5, 2024, Telegram founder Pavel Durov first commented on his arrest in France. After arriving in Paris, he was questioned by police for four days, the entrepreneur said on his Telegram channel.
