“In 2024, we see the result being 250-260 thousand tons of salmon,” Ilya Shestakov, head of Rosrybolovstvo, told TASS in an interview.
In 2023, Russia will lead the list of salmon producing countries with a catch volume of over 600 thousand tons.
According to Shestakov, Rosrybolovstvo does not expect a shortage of red fish on the local market even during the New Year period:
“Because that’s not the minimum amount that has been captured when you look back 10 to 15 years.”
However, the head of the federal agency warned that salmon prices could “correct.”
