Apple today opened a new building at Apple Park called the Observatory.
It is the largest structure built since the opening of the Steve Jobs Theater in 2017.
Apple will use the Observatory to host presentations and promote new products. The official opening was scheduled for today, immediately after the iPhone 16 presentation.
In the main hall of the Observatory there is a large window with a “video portal opening” that opens onto the terrace.
The Observatory itself is located on a hillside, not far from the Steve Jobs Theater. To build it, the company cut down about 90 meters of the site, then replanted it after construction was completed. [Dezeen]
