Apple has revealed the news about Apple Intelligence during the launch event of the new iPhone 16. The resource consists of a series of tools that use artificial intelligence to assist the user, and this time it brings Visual Intelligence, a technology exclusive to new smartphones to analyze photos taken with the camera.
The new feature is very similar to what Google already does with Lens, where users will be able to use the new Capture Button, a side button similar to the shutter button on professional cameras, when using the iPhone 16 camera.
When you click on the button and hover over a restaurant, for example, Vision will automatically respond with reviews, social networks, pages, etc. related to that location. The same goes for the presentation brochure, where when you point the camera, the source adds the event to your calendar.
English only compatibility
Intelligence can also be used for other functions, such as determining the breed of a dog you find on the street but don’t know.
Apple also announced that Apple Intelligence will enter beta mode in October, with more functionality coming the following month. Initially available only in English, the feature will be localized for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom in December.
Other languages like Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish will only be added in 2025. Apple Intelligence will be available on older company products, but Visual Intelligence is exclusive to the iPhone 16 series.
