Google has given developers access to the new Google Play Integrity API.

It allows apps to check if your account is “unlicensed”, meaning you installed/purchased the app from Google Play. First, you’ll see a window, thinking about installing the program from the “market”, and then the developer will decide to deny access if you ignore this window.

In other words, developers can now decide for themselves whether they want to allow their apps to be installed from sources other than Google Play.

This may be especially relevant for Russia, where many services are disabled in the Play Market. They may prohibit installation and downloading from the browser and other stores, such as RuStore. [Android Authority]
