Apple said it has upgraded the internal lighting in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus to help preserve battery life.
What Apple’s changes are will only be revealed by disassembling the smartphones. It is assumed that the company will now use glue that is easier to remove.
In addition, new designs inside dissipate heat better.
All these changes are aimed at complying with a new European law that requires smartphone makers to ensure that users can replace batteries with easily accessible tools by June 2025.
It is unknown whether the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max received the same changes. This will also be shown only by a full disassembly of the device.
