The API provides basic information about the weather at the guest house for 48 hours: temperature, wind, precipitation, cloudiness. This data can be used for various phenomena. For example, you can configure the system so that at a temperature below degrees, variable heating is used, or when the weather is cloudy, UV lamps are turned on for eight indoor plants.
You can also receive notifications about weather changes or display the forecast on the screen of a smartwatch or other device.
In the near future, weather data will be used in the Yandex smart home ecosystem, allowing users to create weather-based scenarios — for example, reminders to take an umbrella in rainy weather, which Alice notifies in advance. The API is aimed at experienced users, gradually expanding the capabilities of its smart home and is compatible with various supporting external APIs.
A free plugin is available for Home Assistant users to simplify integration. The service is free for personal use.
To start working with the API, you need to register in your personal account of Yandex Weather for Smart Home and get an access key. Those who already use the API for business will need to create a new account.
