Secure Exclave is a special security component built into the M4 and now the A18 chip that is designed to prevent unauthorized access to iPhone sensors. This feature works in conjunction with Apple’s new SIL mechanism, which turns on the camera and microphone indicators in hardware rather than relying solely on software triggers. This system provides users with an additional layer of security by making it much harder for malicious apps to bypass these indicators.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 will begin on September 13, with the official release scheduled for September 20.
