Samsung, which launched the Galaxy M55 earlier this year, is expected to launch the Galaxy M55s in India soon. The new smartphone appears to be a version of the standard M55 with some design differences, but it is not yet known whether the model will be exclusive to the country or will be offered globally.
The Galaxy M55s was spotted on the Samsung India support page, essentially confirming the model. Prior to this, website Smartprix had leaked an image of the smartphone that showed off its visual changes, ditching the all-glossy back for a chassis with different cuts and textures.
The camera module appears to be unchanged and Samsung is expected to keep the smartphone with the same 50-megapixel main sensor. So the ultrawide camera should continue with 8MP and 2MP macro, while the front sensor for selfies should also feature a 50MP sensor.
Same technical sheet as M55
Just like the original device, the Galaxy M55s should be equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip designed for the mid-range. The 256GB storage and 8GB RAM should remain unchanged.
This also applies to the 6.6-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz AMOLED panel. What may actually vary between models is the 45W charging for the M55s, as the standard M55 only charges at 25W. The battery capacity should remain at 5,000mAh.
The Galaxy M55s has already been approved by regulators in India and an announcement is expected in the next few days.
