The ban was lifted because the companies failed to appeal in time and pay the full fines imposed. The judge ruled that further blocking of the accounts was no longer necessary.
Earlier, at the end of August, the Brazilian Supreme Court suspended the activities of the social network X.com in the country due to the refusal of the company’s management to extradite its representatives to Brazil.
The decision caused a stir, with CEO Elon Musk calling it an attack on freedom of expression. After that, X.com’s rival social network Bluesky saw a sharp increase in the number of new users, 85% of whom were Brazilian.
