Two Russian cosmonauts have set a record for the longest stay on the ISS (International Space Station) in a single flight, the Roscosmos press service reported on this event.

Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub set the record on Friday, September 20, at 16:06 Moscow time. They, along with American astronaut Loral O’Hara, left for the ISS on September 15, 2023. The group is scheduled to return to Earth on September 23, 2024.

The previous record for the ISS program was held by Sergei Prokopyev, Dmitry Petelin and Francisco Rubio: they were in flight for 370 days, 21 hours, 22 minutes and 16 seconds, the state corporation said.

The record for the total duration of a single space flight belongs to Russian Valery Polyakov, who spent 437 days, 17 hours, 58 minutes and 17 seconds on the Mir orbital station between 1994 and 1995.
