Windows 11 24H2 was initially scheduled to be released in late September or early October, and Microsoft never officially confirmed a release date. And now there’s information that the update will be released “later this year.” There were even hints of a September 24 release date: allegedly this was said on the Microsoft blog. The company later updated the post to say that the information was incorrect.

The blog post notes that “the transition to Microsoft 365 as the entry point to Microsoft Copilot will coincide with the annual release of Windows 11 updates.” Microsoft announced that the changes in Windows 11 will be available for “managed PCs starting September 2024.” The new features will apparently include a secure preview that will be available starting September 24, 2024, and monthly security updates that will be released monthly starting October 8.

Microsoft clarified that these dates only apply to monthly updates for supported versions of Windows 11 and do not pertain to the general availability of Windows 11 24H2. The vendor did not specify a specific release date for Windows 11 24H2 but hinted that the update will be released “very soon.”
