The app is already available in AppStore and Google Play and is operated by PJSC Rostelecom. For now, subscription to the service is available to subscribers of the T2 operator (formerly Tele2) for 149 rubles per month.
The content of the service is provided by Zvuk LLC, part of the Sber ecosystem. Wink Music’s library contains more than 70 million songs, but, like other Russian services, the catalogue does not contain new albums by Western artists confiscated following the imposition of sanctions.
Wink Music is currently in beta testing mode. Experts believe that streaming music logically complements the content of online cinemas and predict that in the future the service will be able to offer exclusive tracks. The full launch of the service is expected in late autumn.
- In 2022, Zvuk allowed artists to upload their work to the platform without going through a distributor. In the spring of 2023, the service’s library was replenished with tracks from foreign labels that left Russia: Cigarettes After Sex, Gorillaz, etc.
- According to TelecomDaily, the volume of the music services market by the end of 2023 amounted to 25 billion rubles, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year. Yandex occupied 59% of the market, MTS – 19%, Sber – 19%.
