Unfortunately, every year iPhones become less and less repairable. What about the new thing?
The back panel of the iPhone 16 was really hard to remove. Also, the strange “tab” on the battery of the new smartphone caught my eye immediately. It has also become more difficult to replace than the iPhone 15. Moreover, Apple has even published instructions for those who will replace the battery of the 16th iPhone.
And there’s still no way to remove the new touch-sensitive camera control button without breaking it. That would make it completely unrepairable. Additionally, it appears to have a serial number, so it’s unlikely to fully function after the replacement, as it has on other iPhones after Face ID has been replaced.
Overall: in terms of repairability, the iPhone 16 hasn’t improved, but it has retained the overall design of the iPhone 15 with a few additional design issues for repairmen.
