Intel is expected to announce and launch its Core Ultra 200 processors, codenamed Arrow Lake, in October, and many rumors have already pointed to a release date of Arrow Lake Refresh for 2025. However, leaks from tipsters who spoke to Panzer on the Chiphell forum suggest that this Refresh has been canceled by the company. In that case, Intel will not be launching desktop CPUs next year.

Details are scarce, but a popular insider has stated that the generation will no longer be released. The reasons for the cancellation are still unclear, but everything indicates that the blue team wanted more time to prepare for the launch of Nova Lake processors in 2026.

Since it’s a refresh, the future version of Arrow Lake shouldn’t bring such major changes. However, it was speculated that these processors would feature a larger die, an updated NPU (Neural Processing Unit) with more TOPS, and even more cores and threads, representing something better than what Intel did with the 2023 Raptor Lake Refresh.

There may be 14A lithography in Nova Lake

With the cancellation, Intel will focus its efforts on the Nova Lake generation. Not much information has been leaked on this generation, but the expectation is that the LGA-1851 socket will be maintained and production will be carried out using 14A 1.4nm lithography. It is also possible that we will see the implementation of the new Xe4 graphics microarchitecture.

The launch of Arrow Lake in 2024 will also intensify the competition with AMD, which recently launched the Ryzen 9000. The company is very likely to launch variants with 3D V-Cache in early 2025, making the competition even more direct.

Even if the source of the information is good, we need to wait for an official statement from Intel, but it will take some time to arrive.
