According to the case materials, PSB is demanding to recover losses due to the blocking of banking operations: 12.1 million euros, 11,000 Swiss francs, 43,000 pounds sterling in rubles at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on the date of enforcement of the court decision. If we recalculate this amount at the current exchange rate, it is 1.8 billion rubles.

The case file states that the hearing on the merits will take place on December 13.

In spring 2022, following the start of a special military operation (SVO), VTB lost control of the Frankfurt am Main-based VTB Bank Europe. VTB is not allowed to dispose of its financial assets or other resources. The VTB subsidiary subsequently changed its name to Ost-West Handelsbank.

Since 2022, the organization has received claims from Russian banks more than once. At the end of last year, the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region fully satisfied VTB’s claim against VTB Bank Europe and recovered 112.6 million euros.

The Moscow Arbitration Court has upheld Sberbank’s claim against its British subsidiary Sberbank CIB for 11.9 billion rubles. Sberbank’s claim against Sberbank CIB was related to the credit institution’s attempt to collect debt on four loans.
