Russian developers “are carrying out large-scale work to improve the quality and maturity of domestic software products,” the association noted. It is proposed to introduce the title as a non-material incentive for IT specialists.
“This year Russia celebrates the 10th anniversary of import substitution. Over the years, a wealth of experience has been accumulated in the transition to Russian software in almost all sectors,” said Renat Lashin, director of ARPP.
The association asked Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko and the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev to consider the initiative.
There are now more than 70 honorary titles in Russia, including “Honored Rescuer”, “Honored Miner”, “Honored Teacher” and others. The latest honorary title introduced in the country was “Honored Worker of Local Government”, established by presidential decree in January 2024.
