The delay is believed to be due to a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company against Palworld developer Pocketpair.

Pocketpair confirmed receipt of the lawsuit in a statement on September 19 and said it would begin legal proceedings to resolve the allegations. However, they expressed uncertainty about specific patents, stating: “We were not informed about such details.”

Players in Japan will need to be patient while Pocketpair overcomes these challenges.
