From September 2013 to August 2023, Yudaeva worked as the first vice president of the Central Bank. In July 2023, the Central Bank announced that the official would become an advisor to the head of the regulator, Elvira Nabiullina.

In October 2023, Yudaeva resigned from the board of directors of the Central Bank, but remains a member of the Financial Stability Committee of the Bank of Russia. The post of IMF Executive Director from Russia since 1990 has been held permanently by Alexey Mozhin.

An Interfax source reported on September 3 that Yudaeva could become IMF executive director from Russia. On the same day, Mozhin confirmed the information about the appointment to RIA Novosti.
