The WIPO draws up a list based on 78 indicators and calculates it as the average of two sub-indices: resources for innovation (institutions, human and scientific capital, infrastructure, levels of market and business development) and its results (development of technology and knowledge ). economy, results of creative activity).

Experts from the Statistical Research Institute and Knowledge Economy of the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University (WIPO academic partner) told Kommersant that an increase in innovation was recorded in Russia at the end of 2023, so It is difficult to objectively evaluate the country’s position in the WIPO ranking.

Among the top ten of the Global Innovation Index are Switzerland, Sweden, the United States, Singapore, Great Britain, South Korea, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. In 11th place is China.
