While it’s not entirely clear whether Apple will attempt to implement Apple Intelligence functionality into the original Vision Pro headset, references in the code suggest such an integration is in the works (current iPads and Macs with M2 chips support Apple Intelligence). So the new helmet on the M5 definitely needs to get the company’s AI.
Kuo suggests that the M5 chip will allow the second-generation Vision Pro to deliver the “best Apple Intelligence user experience” to date, but specific details of these improvements have yet to be revealed.
The price of the Vision Pro with M5 is expected to remain close to the $3,499 starting price for the first-generation model. It is also reported that Apple has developed a more affordable headset codenamed “Apple Vision”.
