Crew Dragon launched to the ISS on September 28 at 20:18 Moscow time. The Falcon 9 rocket was launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida. The docking took place on September 30 at 00:30 Moscow time. Travel time is about 28 hours.
The launch of the spacecraft was postponed several times. At the same time, the crew was reduced from four to two members to make room for the February 2025 return of the crew of Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner, which suffered several maneuvering engine failures during docking in June.
Alexander Gorbunov became the fifth Russian in Crew Dragon. In October 2022, Russian Anna Kikina arrived at the ISS, in March and August 2023, cosmonauts Andrei Fedyaev and Konstantin Borisov were brought to the station, and in March 2024, Alexander Grebenkin.
Russia and the United States signed a two-year cross-flight agreement in July 2022. At the end of 2023 it was extended until 2025 by two more cross-flights.
