From January 1, 2025, the minimum wage (minimum wage) will increase by 16.6% and will amount to 22.4 thousand rubles. This follows from the government bill submitted to the State Duma on September 30.

The relationship with last year’s average salary will increase to 48%. According to Rosstat, the average salary for 2023 was 46.7 thousand rubles.

The authors of the document clarify that the implementation of the provisions of the bill will increase the salaries of approximately 4.2 million workers.

In August, LDPR deputies proposed increasing the minimum wage in Russia from 2025 by 56%, up to 30 thousand rubles. According to the faction’s second leader, Yaroslav Nilov, increasing the minimum wage “is a question not only of wealth, but also of quality of life” for millions of Russians.

In 2024, the minimum wage in Russia increased by 18.5% and was set at 19.2 thousand rubles; last year, its size was 16.2 thousand rubles.
