The chairman of the board of directors of the Moscow Stock Exchange, Yuri Denisov, left his post earlier than planned. The trading platform will be temporarily headed by the head of the National Settlement Depository (NSD), Viktor Zhidkov, the press service of the Moscow Stock Exchange reported.

The decision to terminate Denisov’s powers as chairman of the board of the Moscow Stock Exchange was made by the Supervisory Board. The reasons for Denisov’s dismissal from office were not explained at the Moscow Stock Exchange.
During the selection of a new candidate for the position of chairman of the board of directors of the Moscow Stock Exchange, it will be headed by the head of the NSD, Viktor Zhidkov. On Tuesday, October 1, the Supervisory Board of the depositary will consider the issue of his dismissal from the position of director of NSD, the Moscow Exchange clarified.
Yuri Denisov has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Moscow Stock Exchange since 2019. Before joining the Moscow Stock Exchange, he worked for a long time at VTB in various positions.
Viktor Zhidkov has headed the NSD since May 2021. He previously headed the investment bank Vesta and was on the board of directors of Petrokommerts.
In June 2024, the Moscow Stock Exchange came under US sanctions, followed by UK sanctions.
