Europe, Europe, two months, overview: about digital markets and digital services. They will regulate the activities of IT companies.
Most of the emphasis in the laws is on large technology companies, there is a large market share in applications. These include Apple, Google and others.
According to the documents, from companies that will provide medical care:
• Allow installation of applications from external stores and download them from the Internet.
• Allow developers to use third party payment systems and advertise these payments
• Allow developers to access any hardware feature such as “NFC, security element and processors, authentication mechanism and use of software used to manage maximum technologies”
• Share data and metrics with developers and competitors, including disclosure and promotional production data
The introduction of new rules for companies will begin in 6 months. Then they begin to fine in the amount of 10% of the annual turnover and 20% – in case of repeated violation.
The Council of Europe is to promulgate the digital markets law in September and the digital services law in September 2022. Documents come into force 20 days after publication.
