The increase in the average rate in the three decades of September amounted to 1.22 percentage points. In August it increased 0.38 percentage points and in July 1.02 percentage points.
This figure was highest in the first ten days of March 2022: 20.51%. A record low level of 4.33% was recorded in the first ten days of October 2020.
The average rate is calculated based on the maximum interest rates on deposits of ten banks that attract the largest volume of individual deposits. Among them are, in particular, Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Alfa Bank, Rosselkhozbank.
On September 13, the Central Bank raised the key rate from 18% to 19%. The regulator noted that at the next meeting, scheduled for October 25, a new rate increase is possible.
