“In the new year, January 4 and 5 fall on Saturday and Sunday. As these are non-working holidays, it was decided to move them to Friday, May 2 and Wednesday, December 31, respectively,” the government said.
They added that for the New Year Russians will rest for 11 days in a row, from December 29, 2024 to January 8, 2025. In May they have two four-day weekends (from May 1 to 4 and from May 8 to 11). . At the same time, in February and March there will be less rest than in 2024 (two days off, not three).
Non-working days have been moved: from Sunday, February 23 to Thursday, May 8; from Saturday, March 8 to Friday, June 13; from Saturday, November 1 to Monday, November 3.
All weekends and holidays in 2025:
- from December 29, 2024 to January 8, 2025;
- from February 22 to 23;
- from March 8 to 9;
- from May 1 to May 4;
- from May 8 to 11;
- from June 12 to June 15;
- from November 2 to 4;
- from December 31, 2025 to January 8, 2026.
Previously, a SuperJob survey showed that more than 60% of Russians experience stress when returning to work after the long New Year holidays. At the same time, the majority of respondents do nothing to reduce the level of nervous tension.
