To launch the new feature, Yandex acquired the LeClick service and the specialized SmartReserve hostess software. The company did not disclose the amount of the transaction. After its closure, the services will move to Yandex’s infrastructure and its teams will develop solutions for restaurants.

Restaurants that collaborate with LeClick and already work with the SmartReserve system will be the first to use the reservation function. Establishments that are not yet connected to these services can join now, the company said.

Reservations will be available in the “Where to go” section. Yandex Food users will be able to fully plan a trip to a restaurant: select an establishment using filters and recommendations, reserve a table there and create a route, according to the statement.

  • The LeClick online booking service went live in 2012 and was launched by Anastasia Lustina, who previously worked at Microsoft. The project featured a CRM system with electronic billing and document management.

  • Last spring, Forbes reported on Rostelecom’s plans to buy LeClick. The company itself did not confirm information about the negotiations at that time. As Lustina told the publication, in March 2023, LeClick acquired the SmartReserve service. He belonged to one of the VK structures.
