According to sources of the publication, VTB is considering cooperating with other players in the delivery market, including Yandex.

The manager’s responsibilities will include creating the “best customer experience” for users, as well as conducting research and experimentation. Candidate requirements include experience in food technology and digital product launches.

Analysts note that similar projects already exist in other banks, for example, in the T-Bank application, where delivery is organized through partners. This helps increase customer engagement. However, launching a new service will require significant investments in a highly competitive market, they warn.

According to Infoline Analytics, the e-grocery (grocery delivery) market in Russia grew by 47% in 2023 and reached 918 billion rubles. Market leaders Sber and Yandex control about 60% of all sales. Data Insight estimates the market at 809 billion rubles, with an increase of 43%. At the same time, the e-grocery market is developing faster than e-commerce in general: the number of orders for products has increased by one and a half times over the year. Forecasts for 2024 predict further growth of 57%, especially in the regions, making the segment attractive for new players.
