Using UK Biobank data, the study analyzed more than 10,000 adults and found that those who tested positive for COVID-19 had twice the risk of serious cardiovascular events compared to those without cases of the disease. Hospitalized patients were almost four times more at risk than those sick at home.
The study also revealed that the risk of heart attack and stroke after Covid infection increased by 65% in people with blood type 0.
