The found code shows that Google has developed a simplified way to activate the Terminal, instead of manually opening the terminal via shell commands as before. The Terminal application is a component of the Android Virtualization Framework (AVF) that contains a Web View that can connect to a Linux virtual machine via a local IP address.
According to Rahman, Google is preparing to roll out full Terminal integration to Android so that it can be enabled in the developer settings section.
Using the terminal, you can download and run Debian on a virtual machine without any complicated operations. Moreover, the test version of the new function has already been tested on the Pixel Tablet Android tablet and the Pixel 9 Pro XL smartphone.
Another problem for developers is that most Chromebooks that currently support Terminal are equipped with x86 processors, while Android devices run on ARM processors. That’s why many Linux apps that work great on Chrome OS may not work on Android. But support for Linux distributions will significantly increase the functionality of Android for developers, which will make this operating system more attractive for computers.
