In his statement, Avon emphasized that he would not go against Russian laws and called Nikita Mikhalkov’s accusations against him false.
“The company does not provide support or financing to organizations whose activities contradict the ethical standards and laws of the Russian Federation,” the publication of Avon’s statement quotes.
In the publication of the author’s program on October 11, 2024, Nikita Mikhalkov showed a screenshot of a post on a social network, which indicated the transfer of 200 thousand dollars from the Ukrainian subsidiary of Avon to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The brand also denied involvement in promoting non-traditional values, as mentioned in the show’s statement.
Following the start of the special operation in Ukraine, Avon announced the suspension of investments in local projects, but did not completely suspend its business in Russia. In December 2023, Kommersant, citing sources, wrote that the company has no intention of selling Russian assets.
