The Moscow Stock Exchange will begin trading in palladium and platinum on October 21. Transactions will be carried out in rubles and will also be available to private investors, the press service of the Moscow Stock Exchange reported.

In the exchange market for precious metals, transactions with settlements “today” and “tomorrow” can be carried out, as well as swap transactions. Operations will take place from 10:00 to 19:00 Moscow time. The delivery of metals to the metal accounts of clearing participants will be carried out impersonally.
“The launch of the platinum and palladium exchange will make it possible to determine a fair price for these precious metals, which in the future will be able to act as an additional indicator of the state of the market for all categories of its participants,” said Vladimir Krekoten, general director of the Moscow Stock Exchange.
Investment instruments in palladium-Russian ruble and platinum-Russian ruble pairs were added to the system earlier and are in the stage of technical preparation, the trading platform specified.
On June 28, 2024, the Moscow Exchange began trading in gold futures in rubles. Negotiation of contracts with execution in September and December, as well as in March and June 2025, was allowed.
